The bird’s nest must be soaked in water of room temperature for 2 to 3 hours, until the strands expand and loosen. Wash the bird’s nest strands with water until clean. Drain, then add enough hot water to cover the bird’s nest in the bowl. Double-boil in a pot made for this purpose for 10 to 20 minutes. Add rock sugar and boil for another 10 minutes before being served. Please note that rock sugar must never be cooked over long periods as it will eliminate its inherent properties.

For optimum results, it is suggested that bird’s nest be taken 3 times a week at this suggested portions:-

Children :
2 – 3 gms of bird’s nest each time
Adults :
3 – 5 gms of bird’s nest each time

If this consumption takes place over a period of 3 months or more, the positive effects can be felt. Therefore, consumption of bird’s nests over a long period is highly recommended.
The best time to consume bird’s nests is in the mornings on an empty stomach or before meals.
